Richard Tucker
Specialist
After qualifying with BDS in 1991, in South Africa, Richard Tucker moved to Kent, England, where then worked in private general dental practice for 6 years.
Richard then moved to London to embark on 3 years of specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute. He limited his practice to Periodontics in 1998. In 2001, he started a specialist referral practice, limited to periodontics and the surgical aspects of implant dentistry, which included working in both Harley Street and Wimpole Street. In 2010, he moved to Hampshire after acquiring PerioSouth from his predecessor Martin Ursell. He stopped working in London in 2018 to concentrate all his efforts at PerioSouth.
Richard is married to Rowena, a Consultant Dermatologist and together they own Worthy Clinic in Kings Worthy, Winchester. They love music, theatre and travel. They are also keen snow skiers.
Christian Jones
Hygienist
Christian graduated from dental school in 1991 whilst serving in the Royal Army Dental Corps and later joined PerioSouth in 2005.
Christian is passionate about their work and strives to deliver excellent treatment with kindness and care.
They also have a passion for the animal kingdom, a vegan lifestyle and karate.
Julie Harris
Hygienist
Julie joined Periosouth in 1991 and has been enjoying helping patients on their periodontal journey ever since and is always happy to advise patients on their oral care needs.
As a hygienist registered with the General Dental Council and member of the Dental Defence Union, Julie prides herself in delivering an exceptional service and will always have the patients best interest in mind.
Klaudia Bissett
Hygienist
Klaudia graduated from Portsmouth University with BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy in 2007. She has gained a range of experience working in various dental practices in the south, and has been with the Periosouth team since 2008. Klaudia is an active participant in CPD activities to maintain up to date competencies in the profession.
In her free time, Klaudia enjoys going to the gym, experiencing outdoors activities and walking her dogs.
Elysia Parry
Hygienist
Elysia joined Periosouth in 2021 and loves working with patients to get the very best results. She is passionate about delivering treatment with compassion, patience and care.
Elysia is a keen rower, loves scuba diving and lives in the New Forest with her two little boys.
Reka Urszin
Dental Nurse
Reka gained her NEBDN dental nursing qualification in 2022 and joined Periosouth in 2023. She is a passionate dental nurse who has a keen interest in learning new things and gaining more experience in different dental procedures.
Outside of work, Reka loves to spend time with her family and enjoys travelling, reading and visiting museums.
Trudi Freebody
Practice Co-ordinator
Having worked in dentistry since 2008, Trudi has gained experience from reception to managerial roles and joined PerioSouth in 2020.
As the practice co-ordinator, Trudi works alongside the PerioSouth team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice, providing a safe and compliant environment for all our patients and also carries out administrative duties for Dr Tucker.
Trudi is very patient focused and will do all she can to help in delivering a positive experience for all our patients.
Debbie Matthews
Receptionist
In 2022, after working nine years within NHS dentistry, Debbie joined PerioSouth. Answering the phone and booking appointments is just a part of what Debbie does.
She is also the point of contact for referring dental practices and will endeavour to provide all patients with answers to any questions that they may have and always provides a warm welcome to the practice at every visit.
When not at work, Debbie enjoys knitting, craft and spending time with her grandchildren.
Steven Danyo
Decontamination Technician
Steven has worked at PerioSouth since 2021 and his role is to ensure the sterilisation of all the dental instruments used to provide care to our patients. Steven is a very experienced and conscientious member of the team and will always ensure that the strict protocols are in place and adhered to.
Steven finished his training as a decontamination technician in 2014 and thoroughly enjoys working as part of the PerioSouth team.
